Prices and quotes
How much do packers and movers cost in Varanasi?
Local shifting within about 15 km of Varanasi usually costs ₹4,000–8,000 for a 1 BHK, ₹8,000–15,000 for a 2 BHK, ₹15,000–25,000 for a 3 BHK and ₹25,000–45,000 for a 4 BHK or villa, including packing material, loading, transport and unloading. Offices and shops are priced after a survey.
What changes the price of a move?
The volume of goods, the floor and whether there is a lift (a floor without a lift adds about ₹500–2,000), and the distance: moves to another city add about ₹8–12 per km. April to June is peak season and is around 15% higher.
Is the survey free?
Yes. We survey at your home or on a WhatsApp video call to check the volume of goods, stairs and lane access, then send the price.
Do I get the quote in writing?
Yes. The final price comes after the free survey and is always in writing, with packing, transport, loading and insurance listed separately.
Do you give a GST invoice?
Yes. TEZ is GST registered and gives a GST bill on request.
Can you move a single room or a small student load?
Yes. We move everything from a 1 RK to a villa; small loads are priced after a quick survey, usually on a WhatsApp video call.
Booking, payment and cancellation
How do I pay?
By cash, UPI, IMPS or RTGS. A small advance confirms the date; the rest is paid on the moving day or at delivery, as written on your quote. You get a receipt for every payment.
Can I cancel or change my moving date?
Yes. Tell us at least 48 hours before the packing day and you can cancel or move the date without any charge. If you cancel later than that, we may keep part of the advance to cover the truck and crew already set aside for you; that amount is written on your quote before you book.
What if my goods are damaged?
Check your goods while they are being unloaded and note any damage on the delivery receipt, then send us photos on WhatsApp the same day. If you took transit insurance, we help you file the claim with the insurer.
Insurance and safety
Is transit insurance included?
Transit insurance is optional and charged extra. It covers goods up to ₹5 lakh; the premium depends on the declared value of your goods and is shown separately in your written quote. Cover is subject to the insurer’s terms and conditions.
What can be insured?
Household goods, office equipment and vehicles in transit, up to ₹5 lakh. Ask for insurance when you take the quote.
How do you pack my goods?
With cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film, foam and corrugated sheets. Heavy and fragile items can go in wooden crates. An inventory is signed at loading.
Do you unpack and set up at the new home?
Yes. Beds, wardrobes and tables are re-assembled at the new home and the cartons are taken away.
Are you ISO certified?
Yes. TEZ Packers & Movers is ISO 9001:2015 certified (since 2020) for its packing and moving processes.
Are you IBA approved?
Yes, TEZ is IBA approved for bank staff transfers.
Moving day
How long does local shifting take in Varanasi?
Most local household moves within Varanasi are packed, moved and unloaded on the same day.
Can you move from the narrow lanes of the old city?
Yes. Where a truck cannot enter the lane, the crew carries goods out by hand or in a small vehicle and loads the truck on the nearest wider road. Tell us when you book; it can add some time.
Do you transport bikes?
Yes. Bikes go on the same truck as your furniture or as a single-bike consignment, wrapped in layers and listed on a handover slip at pickup and delivery.
Do you transport cars?
Yes. Cars go door to door in enclosed carriers from Varanasi to other cities, quoted separately.
Which documents do I need to send my car or bike?
A photocopy of the RC, a copy of the current vehicle insurance and a copy of the owner’s ID (Aadhaar or PAN). If the vehicle is in someone else’s name, add a short signed letter from the owner saying you may send it. Keep the original papers with you — never leave them inside the vehicle.
How should I hand over my car or bike?
Leave only a little fuel in the tank, take out the FASTag if you will need it, and remove loose items, music systems and helmets. We photograph the vehicle with you and note every scratch and the odometer reading on the handover slip, and check it again with you at delivery.
Do you have storage?
Yes. We have our own warehouse in Varanasi for goods between moves; storage is quoted separately.
